About Shaun

I am a London based Furniture Maker, specialising in handmade, fine furniture. I've been a woodworker for the majority of my career. To begin with, I undertook a 4-year Coach Building Apprenticeship, which incorporated a lot of cabinet making to a high standard; this enabled me to develop the skills required for making quality furniture.

In 2003, I then started Shaker Maker Fine Furniture, where I have continued to enjoy the challenges involved in designing and making bespoke furniture which has allowed me to be involved in some very special projects.

I strive to create unique furniture; combining aesthetic beauty with practical functionality. I work with a range of clients, each time producing handcrafted pieces where individual requirements are met, insuring high quality. I use a mix of traditional and modern techniques to insure the best outcome; from design to installation.

Contact me via phone or email to discuss your project or arrange a visit. I have an open door policy, you are welcome to come by my workshop for a friendly chat any time and to see work in progress (phone first).

The Process

I work in a range of hardwoods and veneers including home grown timbers. I also use a range of sheet materials, and can incorporate glass and metal into designs.

I design and make a full range of bespoke furniture, both free‑standing and built‑in, including joinery work.

The process begins as soon as you get in touch. Following initial contact, we will arrange an appointment (usually at my workshop at Manor Farm) to discuss your requirements in more detail.

Once the brief is established, I will provide a guide price and timeline to be agreed.  If you would like to proceed, an initial deposit will secure my time, and drawings are supplied for approval.

My Workshop

My workshop is based in the 9th century 22 acre Manor Farm Heritage site in Ruislip, it incorporates a medieval farm complex, with The Old Barn, dating from the 13th century.

Manor Farm Ruislip is where I am based, my workshop is one of five within the grounds of the Manor Farm Heritage site, including The Great Barn; which is a grade II listed building. The whole site was refurbished with the aid of Lottery Heritage Funding.
